1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the SchoolSync website, family planning workspace, calendar tools, document-processing features, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account, accepting a family invitation, connecting a third-party service, or otherwise using SchoolSync, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility and authority
You must be legally able to enter into these Terms. SchoolSync is intended for parents, guardians, caregivers, and other authorized adults and is not intended for direct use by children under 13. If you create or administer a family workspace, invite another person, or add information about a child or family member, you represent that you have authority to do so.
3. Accounts and family workspaces
- Provide accurate information and keep your sign-in credentials and connected accounts secure.
- You are responsible for activity performed through your account until you notify us of suspected unauthorized access.
- Family administrators control workspace membership and certain shared data. Caregivers and other members may see information made available within the workspace according to their role.
- Invite only people who should have access. Removing a person stops future workspace access but may not erase actions already recorded in audit history.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of documents, photos, emails, calendar information, and other content you submit (“Your Content”). You grant SchoolSync a limited permission to host, copy, process, analyze, display, and transmit Your Content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the Service and to perform actions you request. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to provide Your Content.
5. Calendar extraction and reminders
SchoolSync uses automated processing to identify possible dates and event details. Automated results may be incomplete or incorrect. You are responsible for reviewing event titles, dates, times, locations, assignments, reminders, and conflicts before relying on them. Email, browser, Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, and other reminders may be delayed or unavailable. For important school, medical, travel, legal, or safety-related plans, confirm the details with the original source.
6. Google and other third-party services
Google Calendar and other third-party integrations are optional and are governed by the third party’s own terms and privacy practices. When you use Google sign-in or separately connect Google Calendar, you authorize SchoolSync to use the permissions shown on the applicable Google consent screen as described in the SchoolSync Privacy Policy and at your direction. You can disconnect Calendar access in SchoolSync Settings or revoke Google access through your Google Account. SchoolSync is not responsible for a third party’s availability, policies, or changes to data outside SchoolSync.
7. Acceptable use
You may not:
- use the Service unlawfully or infringe another person’s rights;
- upload malicious code or content you are not authorized to process;
- attempt to bypass access controls, impersonate another person, probe security, or access another family’s workspace without permission;
- interfere with the Service, abuse invitations or email features, or use automated methods that unreasonably burden the Service; or
- copy, reverse engineer, resell, or exploit the Service except where applicable law expressly permits it.
8. Platform administration and support access
Authorized Platform Administrators may take account, workspace, security, retention, and recovery actions to operate and protect the Service. Support Access is designed to be temporary, visible, and read-only unless an administrator explicitly enables editing, provides a reason, and confirms the action. Sensitive administrative activity is recorded in audit logs. Platform Administrators must use these tools only for legitimate support, safety, privacy, and operational purposes.
9. Suspension, deletion, and retention
You may stop using SchoolSync at any time and may use available controls to archive or delete eligible data. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, prevent misuse, comply with law, or enforce these Terms. Some deleted data may remain recoverable for a limited period, and a workspace may be retained for authorized recovery or transfer as described in the Privacy Policy. Calendar copies already sent to a third-party service may need to be removed from that service separately.
10. Service changes
SchoolSync may add, change, limit, or discontinue features. We aim to provide reasonable notice when a material change would significantly affect users, but beta, preview, or third-party-dependent features may change without advance notice.
11. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that SchoolSync will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or that extracted calendar details, conflict detection, synchronization, or reminders will always be accurate or delivered. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties that cannot legally be excluded.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, SchoolSync will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or opportunities, arising from use of or inability to use the Service. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We will post the revised Terms here, update the “Last updated” date, and provide additional notice when appropriate. Continued use after revised Terms take effect means you accept them.
